OSINT Use Conditions
- Everything on WARNPOINT comes from public sources and automated analysis. It is an estimate, not confirmation.
- Verify before you act — never rely on WARNPOINT alone where lives, safety or money are at stake.
- Never use WARNPOINT to target, locate, surveil or harm people.
These conditions apply to everyone who uses WARNPOINT and form part of the Terms of Service.
1. What WARNPOINT's information is
- Open sources only. WARNPOINT compiles publicly available information: news reports and wire feeds, public broadcaster streams, public Telegram channels, and open data such as aircraft transponder (ADS-B) broadcasts, earthquake, fire and hazard feeds, and public cyber advisories. We do not use classified, hacked or leaked material, or private communications.
- Automated analysis. Country scores, the global threat level, incident types, locations, warnings, forecasts and AI summaries are produced by software. They are model estimates with known limitations, described in our methodology.
- Not confirmation. Nothing on WARNPOINT is official confirmation by any government, military, agency or international body, and WARNPOINT is not affiliated with any of them.
2. Known limitations
- Early reports are often wrong. Casualty figures, attributions and locations change as events develop.
- Coverage is uneven: some regions and languages are reported far more than others, and quiet does not mean safe.
- Locations may be approximate — often a city or country centre rather than the exact site.
- Feeds can be delayed, interrupted or stop. Aircraft and vessel data only shows transponders that are broadcasting.
- Sources can be biased or deliberately misleading. State-controlled media and unvetted channels are included so you can see what is being claimed, and are labelled with a D grade; single-source D-grade claims are treated as unconfirmed.
3. Source grades
Each outlet carries a grade from A (wire services and official primary sources) to D (state-controlled or unvetted). Grades describe the outlet in general, not a specific report, and are our editorial judgement. We show all sources and let you decide; a grade is not an endorsement or an accusation.
4. Verify before you act
Do not rely on WARNPOINT alone for decisions about travel, evacuation, personal or staff safety, security operations, journalism, trading or investment. Check official sources — for travel, your government's travel advisories; in an emergency, local emergency services and authorities.
5. Prohibited uses
You must not use WARNPOINT, its data or its outputs to:
- plan, support or carry out violence, terrorism, sabotage or attacks on people, infrastructure, aircraft or vessels;
- target, locate, track, surveil, stalk, harass or dox any individual, including people named in reports, journalists, aid workers or people near saved places;
- de-anonymise or re-identify people, or combine WARNPOINT data with other data to build profiles of individuals;
- conduct military targeting or operational planning, or evade sanctions or export controls;
- create or spread disinformation, including presenting WARNPOINT estimates, cards or screenshots as official confirmation or altering them to mislead;
- harass or intimidate publishers, sources or communities featured in the Service.
We may suspend accounts and report activity to authorities where we believe the Service is being used to cause harm.
6. Publishers and third-party content
Headlines, links and streams belong to their publishers and broadcasters. WARNPOINT shows short headlines with links to the original reporting and embeds public live streams; follow the link for the full story. Inclusion of a source or report is not an endorsement. Some reporting describes violence and may be distressing.
7. Corrections and removal requests
If you believe WARNPOINT has misclassified or mislocated an event, mis-graded a source, or displays content that infringes your rights or endangers someone, contact the contact form with the link and details. We review requests promptly and correct or remove items where appropriate.
8. Sharing and attribution
When you share WARNPOINT cards, screenshots, scores or embeds, keep the WARNPOINT attribution, do not alter them, and make clear they are open-source estimates. Shared cards are snapshots of a moment and may be out of date.
